This past weekend was the last of three events of the 2010 Triple Crown Bouldering Series held at Stone Fort in Chattanooga, Tenn. I had the pleasure of helping out with this event, which I recapped for Rock and Ice online here, at the La Sportiva booth. Please check it out. And if you feel EXTRA inspired, donate to the SCC to help secure more climbing.
I’ve written about the Triple Crown multiple times before. Once as a short blurb in Rock and Ice issue 157, which you can find here, and again as a longer piece in issue 183 which you can find here–or you can see the full photo version on my clips page here (it’s the one titled Triple Wammy).
There are two things that I learned at this event:
1. sometimes, you can boulder in the rain
2. superheroes do exist
Check out the photos below to see mass crowds of southerners, the bouldering field conditions and the real, live existence of superheroes. Amazing, right?
